Oil Filter Change: The RYCO Way
> An oil filter's like a bouncer for your engine, keeping out all the muck and nasties – dirt, metal bits, sludge – that can do serious damage. Especially in modern CRDi and T-GDI engines found in rides like the KIA Sorento, keeping that oil clean is absolutely vital for smooth running, especially with the tough conditions our Kiwi roads throw at 'em.
Tell-tale Signs You Need a New Filter
• That pesky 'Check Engine' light or the oil pressure warning's lit up on your dash.
• Your engine's not running like it used to, or it's making weird noises.
• Acceleration's sluggish, or you're burning more fuel than usual.
• The oil looks manky when you check the dipstick – full of grit and grime.
• You're overdue for a service – oops!
WOF Woes?
A dodgy oil filter won't directly fail a WOF, but neglecting oil changes can lead to serious engine issues: excessive emissions, leaks, or rattling. Regular servicing keeps you sweet with the WOF man.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get cracking, a few quick words from yours truly. Safety first, always! Never get under a car that's only held up by a jack – use proper stands. You don't want things to end badly. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep your mitts clean, and a can of Engine Flush additive to give the old girl a good internal clean before you drain the oil. Have a Oil Drip Tray handy – spills are a pain to clean up, and nobody likes oil stains on the driveway! Last but not least, a new oil filter is a no-brainer when you're doing an oil change. Keeps everything running sweet as.
Bob's Two Cents
I reckon regular oil and filter changes are the single best thing you can do for your engine. A quality filter like the RYCO R2929P is built tough to handle the demands of those modern CRDi and T-GDI engines in your KIA Carnival or Genesis GV70. Don't skimp on this – a few dollars spent now can save you a fortune later on. Pop down to Bob's Shop, and we'll sort you out with the right bits for your KIA, Hyundai, or Genesis. I'm always happy to chew the fat over a cafe lunch!
Fitment Notes

🧰 What Else You'll Need:

• Gasket Inspection: Double check that the old oil filter's rubber O-ring came off with the filter, and pre-lube the new filter gasket with fresh oil before mounting.
• Clean Hands: Protect your hands from used engine oil with Nitrile Gloves.
