Description

Spark Plug Change-Out: The NGK Way
> Spark plugs are the unsung heroes igniting the go-juice in your engine. Over time, they cop a hammering from heat and constant sparking, leading to misfires, less grunt, and a heavier hit on the fuel bill, especially in sophisticated machines like your Jaguar XK8 or XJ.
Signs It's Time for New Plugs
• Engine's misfiring, especially when you put your foot down
• Idling feels rough as guts
• Fuel economy's gone down the gurgler
• Engine's a pain to start
• That pesky check engine light's on
Will it pass WOF?
Yep, as long as the engine's running sweet and not belching out fumes. Misfiring from knackered plugs is a surefire way to fail a WOF check.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking, grab these bits and bobs to make the job safer and cleaner:
• Safety First: Chuck on some Safety Glasses to keep the grit out of your eyes. No one wants a trip to the eye doctor.
• Glove Up: Grab some Nitrile Gloves. They'll keep your hands clean and protected from the inevitable grime.
• Keep it Clean: Have some rags handy to wipe up any spills. No one wants a garage floor looking like an oil painting.
• Spark Plug Prep: Smear a tiny amount of anti-seize compound on the spark plug threads. This will prevent them from seizing in the cylinder head over time. A little dab will do ya.
Fitment Notes
Make sure you're using the right spark plug for your engine. Check your vehicle's manual or the CARFIX fitment guide to be sure. Apply a smear of anti-seize compound to the plug threads to stop them seizing up. Torque the plugs to the manufacturer's spec to avoid stripping the threads.
Bob's your uncle for all things car-related!
