Description

Spark Plug Replacement: A Kiwi DIY Guide with NGK!
> Spark plugs are the unsung heroes of your engine, sparking the bang that gets you moving. Old plugs cause misfires and drink more gas – especially noticeable in the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Mitsubishi Outlander. Let's get those replaced, eh?

Spotting Dodgy Spark Plugs
• Jeep Grand Cherokee misfiring on acceleration? That's a plug problem.
• Rough idling, especially when that i-MiEV generator kicks in? Yep, plugs again.
• Mitsubishi Outlander suddenly thirstier than your uncle at a BBQ? Time for new plugs.
• Engine cranking longer than a Kiwi summer? Plugs are likely culprits.
• That pesky check engine light glaring at you?

WOF Woes?
Failing plugs mean dirty emissions, and that's a one-way ticket to WOF rejection. No good, mate!

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking, safety first! Never work under a car supported *only* by a jack – use proper axle stands. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep your hands clean, and safety glasses to protect your eyes. A can of Brake Cleaner is perfect for blasting away any gunk around the spark plug holes before you pull the old ones. Finally, a dab of anti-seize on the new plug threads will make life easier next time around.

Bob's Top Tip
Keep those spark plugs firing on all cylinders to keep your engine humming sweetly and your fuel bills down.

Important Fitment Notes
Double-check the spark plug gap for your specific engine. The right gap is crucial. Refer to your vehicle's manual for the proper settings. For the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, make sure you're using the right plug for the generator engine too.

🛠️ Bob's Pro Tip: Do the Job Right!
> If you're replacing this spark plug, make sure you've got the right workshop prep, protection, and safety gear ready. Taking a bit of extra time and using the proper safety stands and cleaners makes all the difference for a professional result!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Always secure your vehicle on heavy-duty safety jack stands before working underneath. Never rely solely on a hydraulic jack.
• Clean Hands: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your skin from grease, oils, and chemical sprays.
• Preparation: Have microfibre towels and a suitable parts cleaner nearby to keep components clean during installation.
