Swapping Out Your Honda Accord Brake Pads — TRW Edition
> Brake pads, eh? They're what stops your Honda Accord, converting all that forward motion into heat when you hit the brakes. They wear down over time, especially if you're tackling those tough Auckland traffic jams or cruising the open roads. Letting them go too long is asking for trouble, and nobody wants a prang, right?
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Hear a squeal or a nasty grinding when you brake?
• Brakes feel weak or the pedal feels soft?
• Feel a wobble in the steering wheel or pedal when stopping?
• Pads look thin (less than 3mm of material left)?
• Dashboard warning light's on (if your Accord's got one)?
WOF Woes?
Worn brake pads are a WOF failure, mate. No question. You need decent pads to pass, so get them sorted!

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper axle stands! And chuck on some Safety Glasses to keep the brake dust out of your peepers.
• Keep It Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Give the area a good blast with some Brake Cleaner before you start pulling things apart. It'll make the job cleaner and safer.
• Protect Your Hands: Those brake components can be sharp and grimy. A pair of Nitrile Gloves will keep your hands clean and protected.
• Grease is the Word: When reassembling, use a dab of anti-seize Caliper Grease on the caliper bolts to prevent them from seizing up later. Makes the next brake job a breeze!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
