Description

Brake Pad Replacement: A TRW Guide
> Brake pads? They're the unsung heroes, clamping down on your rotors to bring you to a halt. They wear out over time, especially if you're doing a lot of stop-start driving in your Mitsubishi Lancer or Nissan Tiida. Keep 'em in good nick for safety's sake!

Spotting the Warning Signs
• Squealing like a pig when you hit the brakes?
• Taking longer to stop than you'd like?
• Feeling a judder through the pedal?
• Brake pedal feeling a bit soft and spongy?
• Pads looking a bit thin (less than 3mm left)?

WOF Woes?
Worn brake pads? That's a guaranteed WOF failure right there. Get them sorted, it's a no-brainer for safety.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you leap into this job, mate, let's yarn about the bits and bobs that'll make it a whole lot safer and easier. Trust me, a bit of prep goes a long way.
• Safety First, Eh? Never EVER get under your Lancer or Tiida held up with just a jack. Get yourself some proper axle stands. Your life's worth more than a cafe lunch.
• Blast that Brake Dust: Grab a can of Brake Cleaner to spray down the rotors and calipers. Brake dust is nasty stuff, and you don't want to be breathing it in.
• Keep the Hands Clean: Get some Nitrile Gloves. Brake dust and grease are a pain to get off, and you don't want that gunk under your fingernails!
• Stop the Squeal: A wee bit of anti-seize caliper grease on the back of the pads can stop any annoying squealing. Worth its weight in gold, that stuff is.
• Eye Protection: Get some Safety Glasses. You only get one set of eyes, so look after them.

Expert Recommendation
I reckon you should replace those brake pads the moment they start showing wear. TRW pads are a solid choice, great quality, and will fit a bunch of vehicles, including your Mitsubishi Lancer or Nissan. Vehicle Fitment
These brake pads fit a wide range of Japanese cars, including Mitsubishi Lancer (2007 onwards) and Nissan models like March, Micra, AD, Wingroad, Tiida, and Note. Double-check the year and model, as there can be differences even within the same model range.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
