Swapping Out Your Brake Pads — With TRW at the Wheel
> Brake pads? Yeah, they're kinda a big deal. They're what presses against the rotors to slow you down. Over time, they wear out from all the heat, especially if you're always hitting the brakes in town in your trusty old Toyota.
What Clued You In?
• Screeching like a banshee when you brake?
• Brakes feeling a bit... slow?
• Pedal feeling soft as butter?
• Pads looking worse for wear?
• That dreaded brake light glaring at you?
WOF Woes?
Worn pads are a classic WOF fail. They need enough meat on 'em to stop you properly. Give 'em a squiz regularly to be sure you're up to scratch.

Changing your brake pads is key for safe driving, especially in hybrids like the Prius where the regenerative system can hide pad wear. Bob's always keen to help you pick the right bits for your Toyota. Pop into Bob's Shop for a yarn!
🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Mate! Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper jack stands – your life's worth it.
• Cleanliness is King: Blast away that nasty brake dust with a can of Brake Cleaner. Keeps everything working sweet.
• Lube is Your Friend: A wee dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots stops things seizing up later. Trust me, you'll thank me.
• Arm Yourself: Chuck on some safety glasses and Nitrile Gloves to keep the muck off. No one wants brake dust in their eyes or ingrained in their skin.
Fitment Notes
Double-check these pads fit your exact Toyota model and year. Some models have different brake setups depending on the trim. Always check the specs, especially on hybrids like the Prius, which need pads designed for regenerative braking. Bob @ CARFIX knows his stuff!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
