Swapping Out Your Brake Pads — TRW Style
> Brake pads are the unsung heroes clamped against the brake disc, creating friction to pull you up safely. Over time, they wear down, turning your stopping power from 'sweet as' to 'she'll be right...eventually', especially if you're zipping around town in a Renault Megane or Nissan Juke. Time to get them sorted!

Uh Oh... Sounds Like You've Got These Symptoms:
• Brakes squealing like a rusty gate when you hit the pedal.
• Taking forever and a day to pull up.
• The brake pedal vibrating like a massage chair.
• Brake pedal feels softer than a cafe lunch left in the rain.
• Pads are looking thinner than a Kiwi saver account after Christmas (less than 3mm).

WOF Time? Gutted, You'll Fail!
Yep, worn-out brake pads are a guaranteed WOF failure here in New Zealand. You need decent pad thickness and good stopping power to keep everyone safe and legal.

DIY or Get a Pro?
Difficulty: 5/10 (A good weekend project)
Estimated Time: An afternoon on the drive.
Tools You'll Need: Jack, axle stands (never skip these!), wheel wrench, G-clamp or piston tool, socket set, torque wrench, brake cleaner, wire brush, and maybe a pad spreader.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Eh?: Never, ever get under a car that's only held up by a jack. Axle stands are your mates here. Also, safety glasses are a no-brainer to keep that brake dust out of your eyes.
• Keep It Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Give everything a good blast with Brake Cleaner before you start pulling things apart. And grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep your hands clean, mate.
• Protection is Key: A bit of copper anti-seize grease on the back of the pads will stop them from squealing like a banshee. Plus, it'll help with heat dissipation.
• Lube 'Em Up: A touch of silicone grease on the caliper pins will keep everything moving smoothly. No one likes a sticky caliper!

Bob's Two Cents
Bob @ CARFIX reckons you should always replace brake pads when they're looking worse for wear. Brakes are not the place to cut corners, mate. TRW pads are a solid choice, known for being reliable even when you're giving it heaps in your Megane or Juke. Pop into Bob's Shop for a yarn – he'll sort you out with the right parts for your Renault, Nissan, or Dacia. Sweet as!

Fitment Notes
These pads are made for specific Renault Megane (2008-2016), Nissan Juke (2019-onwards), Dacia Duster (2010-2018), and Renault Captur (2015-onwards) models. Double-check the year, model, and engine of your car to make sure they're the right fit. Some models have different brake setups depending on the trim level and where they were made.

Bob's always on hand to help you work out exactly what part you need for your Renault, Nissan, or Dacia. Make sure you head over to Bob's Shop for a chat!

🛠️ Bob's Pro Tip: Do the Job Right!
> If you're swapping out these parts on your vehicle, don't skimp on fresh rotors. Check out our compatible TRW Disc Brake Rotors (Part No. DF4110S) to ensure a perfect bed-in and get the job done properly first time!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
