Jaguar Brake Pad Replacement: TRW Edition
> Your Jaguar's brake pads are what stop you, using friction against the rotors. They wear down over time, which means you don't stop as quickly – not ideal, especially if you're pushing it or stuck in city traffic.
Reckon You Need New Pads? Here's the Lowdown:
• Brakes sound like a choir of squealing pigs?
• Taking longer to pull up at the lights?
• That pesky brake pad warning light's on?
• Pads look thinner than a cafe lunch?
• Pads wearing unevenly?
Will it pass WOF?
Worn brake pads are a guaranteed WOF failure. They have to be above a minimum thickness to keep you safe.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper axle stands – your life's worth it.
• Keep it Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Give everything a good blast with Brake Cleaner before you start pulling things apart. This stuff blasts away carbon dust and grime.
• Glove Up: Protect your hands with some heavy-duty Nitrile Gloves. Brake cleaner and brake dust aren't exactly kind to your skin.
• Copper Anti-Seize: A smear of copper anti-seize grease on the brake pad backing plates and caliper bolts will help prevent squealing and make future removal a breeze.
• Eye Protection: Safety glasses are a no-brainer when dealing with brake dust and flying debris.
Expert Recommendation
Swapping out your brake pads is key to keeping your Jaguar safe and performing as it should. Buggered pads mean buggered braking, and that can lead to trouble. Pop into Bob's Shop; I'm always here to help you sort out the right part for your Jag.
Fitment Notes
Double-check the pads fit your exact Jaguar model and brake setup. Some models have different pad needs depending on the year and trim.
Bob's Advice: "Give those rotors a good once-over while you're at it. If they're scored or worn, it might be time to replace them too!"

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
