Description

MINI Brake Pad Replacement: The TRW Way
> Your MINI's brake pads are what turn 'whizzing around' into 'stopping safely'. They convert all that forward motion into heat by squeezing against the rotors. Over time, they wear down - especially if you're doing lots of stop-start driving around town.
Recognising the Warning Signs
• Hear a nasty squeal or grind when you hit the brakes?
• Brakes feel a bit soft, or take longer to pull you up?
• That brake pad warning light's glaring at you from the dash?
• Having a peek, and seeing the pads are looking pretty thin?
• Pads wearing unevenly? Might be a caliper issue brewing.
WOF Woes?
Worn-out brake pads are a dead cert for failing a WOF here in NZ. They need to be thick enough to do their job properly. Check 'em against the WOF guidelines to be sure.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking, safety first, eh? Never get under a car supported only by a jack! Use proper jack stands. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep those hands clean and a pair of Safety Glasses to protect your peepers from brake dust. While you're at it, a can of Brake Cleaner is gold for blasting away all that nasty carbon dust. And don't forget a dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots. A little bit of TLC goes a long way.
Expert Recommendation
Replacing those brake pads is a no-brainer for keeping your MINI safe and sound. Worn pads mean longer stopping distances, which is never a good thing, especially in a panic situation. TRW pads are a great choice for getting your MINI stopping. Head over to Bob's Shop, and I'll sort you out with exactly what you need for your MINI. Let's get those brakes sorted!
Fitment Notes
Double-check these pads fit your exact MINI model and year. Some MINIs have different brake setups depending on the trim. Best to check the manufacturer's specs and measure the pad dimensions before you start, especially if you've got a Cooper S or John Cooper Works.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
