Swapping Out Your Brake Pads — The TRW Way
> Brake pads, eh? They're what stops ya, and they wear down over time – it's just physics. Especially in those bigger rigs like your Suburban or Ram, hauling gear puts extra stress on 'em. If you're towing the boat or the work trailer, those pads are working overtime. Let's get those brakes sorted.
What Clued You In?
• Brakes squealing like a rusty gate?
• Pedal feeling a bit soft?
• Taking longer to pull up at the lights?
• That brake pedal pulsing like crazy?
• Pads lookin' thinner than a cafe lunch slice of toast?
WOF Woes?
Worn brake pads are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in New Zealand. They gotta have enough meat on 'em to actually stop the vehicle safely. Give 'em a good look before your WOF to save yourself the hassle.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get cracking, a few quick words from yours truly. Safety first, always! Never get under a vehicle supported only by a jack – use proper jack stands. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep your hands clean, and safety glasses are a no-brainer to protect your eyes from brake dust. While you're in there, give everything a good blast with some Brake Cleaner to get rid of that carbon dust. And don't forget a little dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will keep things smooth for next time.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Brakes get incredibly dirty. Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from stubborn brake dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use a high-quality Brake Cleaner spray to blast away stubborn dust, oil, and road grime from the caliper assembly and new rotors before reassembly.
• Lubrication: Apply a thin smear of high-temperature caliper grease to the pad backing plates and slide pins (keep it off the pad friction material!) to prevent squeals and ensure smooth caliper operation.
