Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — TRW Style
> Your Ford Falcon or Fairlane's disc brake rotors are dead important for stopping safely. They get a real hiding from friction and heat, especially if you give it a bit of stick in an XR6 or XR8. If they're warped or worn, your braking goes to custard.
What Clued You In?
• Your brake pedal's doing the shimmy – vibrating or pulsating.
• Braking sounds like a choir of squealing pigs or grinding metal.
• Feels like you're trying to stop the Interislander – longer stopping distances.
• Rotors look like they've been attacked by a grinder – scoring or damage.
• Brake pads wearing unevenly – dodgy!
WOF Woes?
Dodgy brake rotors are a surefire way to fail a WOF here in the land of the long white cloud. They've gotta be thick enough and free from cracks to pass the test, mate.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you get cracking, let's make sure you're all set for a safe and tidy job. Brakes create a lot of fine carbon dust, so protect yourself and your workspace:
• Safety First: Chuck on some Safety Glasses to keep that brake dust out of your peepers.
• Glove Up: Grab a pair of Nitrile Gloves to keep your mitts clean and protected from brake cleaner.
• Cleanliness is Key: Have a can of Brake Cleaner handy to blast away brake dust and grime. Makes everything easier to work on.
• Stop the Squeal: A wee dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will keep things quiet and prevent future headaches. Available at CARFIX.
Bob's Two Cents
