Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — TRW Style
> Your disc brake rotors are a seriously important part of how your car pulls up. They're what your brake pads grip onto to slow down your Mercedes-Benz S-Class, SL, or Saab 9-5. Give 'em a hiding and they'll wear down, warp, or even crack, especially under tough conditions.
Uh Oh, Time for New Rotors If:
• Your brakes are squealing like a pig or grinding like gears.
• The brake pedal's vibrating like crazy.
• Your stopping distances are getting longer than a summer holiday.
• You can see cracks, deep grooves, or rust on the rotor itself.
WOF Woes?
Worn brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in NZ. Make sure your rotors are thick enough and free from any nasty cracks or wear to pass that test.

While you're at it, a can of anti-seize caliper grease will keep things moving smoothly. Don't forget your Safety Glasses to protect your peepers and a pair of Nitrile Gloves to keep the hands clean. • Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
