Swapping Out Your Mercedes-Benz Disc Brake Rotors
> Your Mercedes-Benz's rotors are dead important for good stopping. Especially if you give your AMG a bit of stick, they can wear out, warp, or even crack. That's no good for braking or keeping you safe on the road.
What Clued You In?
• Your brake pedal's vibrating like crazy
• Brakes are squealing like a stuck pig
• Can see cracks or grooves on the rotors
• Taking way too long to stop
• Pads are wearing unevenly
Will it pass WOF?
Buggered rotors are a quick way to fail a WOF here in New Zealand. They have to be above the minimum thickness and without cracks to pass the test.
DIY or Workshop?
Difficulty: 7/10

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get cracking, let's make sure you're sorted. Safety first, always!
• Safety Glasses: Don't want any brake dust or rust in your eyes, mate. Grab some Safety Glasses.
• Nitrile Gloves: Keep your hands clean and protected from all the brake dust and grime. These Nitrile Gloves are just the ticket.
• Brake Cleaner: Blast away all that nasty brake dust and grime before you start pulling things apart. Makes the job cleaner and easier. Get some Brake Cleaner.
• Caliper Grease: Pop a bit of anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper bolts to keep them from binding next time. A little goes a long way.
And of course, never get under a car supported only by a jack! Always use proper stands.
Expert Recommendation
Worn rotors mean rubbish braking, especially on something like an AMG Mercedes-Benz. New rotors mean you'll stop properly and stay safe. Bob at CARFIX is always keen to lend a hand finding the right bits for your Mercedes-Benz. Pop into Bob's Shop for a yarn!
Fitment Notes
Double-check the new rotors are the right ones for your Mercedes-Benz year and model. Some have different sizes. Always do both sides of the axle at the same time for even braking.

• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
