Disc Brake Rotor Replacement Guide — With TRW
> Your Honda Civic Type-R or Integra Type-S's disc brake rotors are like the unsung heroes of stopping power. They're what your brake pads clamp onto to bring you to a halt. But, like anything that works hard, they wear out, especially if you give 'em a good thrashing on the open road.
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Brake pedal feels like it's got a pulse or is vibrating like crazy?
• Hear some squealing or grinding when you hit the brakes?
• Taking longer to stop than usual?
• Rotors look like they've seen better days - cracks, deep grooves, or rust?
WOF Woes?
Worn brake rotors are a dead cert for failing your WOF here in NZ. They gotta be above a certain thickness and free from nasty cracks to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you rip into those brakes, let's make sure we're safe and sorted:
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper jack stands – it's a no-brainer.
• Keep it Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Give those calipers and rotors a good blast with some Brake Cleaner to get rid of the muck. Your lungs will thank ya!
• Glove Up: Keep your hands clean and protected with some heavy-duty Nitrile Gloves. Brake cleaner and general grime aren't exactly good for the skin.
• Lube is Your Friend: A little dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will make life easier next time you're in there.
• Eye Protection: Don't forget your Safety Glasses. Flying grit in the eyes is not a good time.
Expert Recommendation
Worn brake rotors are a safety risk. Replacing them keeps your Honda stopping like it should and stops other brake bits from getting damaged. Come have a yarn with Bob @ CARFIX, and he'll sort you out with the right parts for your Honda.
Fitment Notes
Double-check those new rotors fit your Honda Civic Type-R (2001-2005) or Honda Integra Type-S (2004-2007). Rotor diameter and thickness need to match the originals.

• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
