Description

Swapping Out Your Prado's Brake Rotors — DBA Style
> Disc brake rotors are a seriously important part of your Toyota Land Cruiser Prado's braking setup. They're the surface your brake pads grab onto. Over time, especially with heavy off-roading or towing (typical Land Cruiser life!), these rotors can wear, warp, or even crack from all the heat and stress. Time for a change, mate.

Uh Oh, Sounds Like You've Got These Symptoms:
• Brake pedal feels like it's vibrating or pulsing?
• Brakes are squealing or grinding like crazy?
• Taking way longer to stop than usual?
• Can see cracks or deep grooves on the rotor itself?
• Brake pads wearing unevenly?

Will it pass WOF?
Dodgy brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in NZ. They need to be above the minimum thickness and free from cracks to pass the test.

DIY or Hand it to the Pros?
Difficulty: 7/10
Estimated Time: 2-3 hours per axle
Tools You'll Need: Jack and stands (never get under a car only on a jack!), wheel wrench, socket set, torque wrench, brake cleaner, and maybe a brake caliper piston compression tool.
