Toyota 4WD Disc Brake Rotor Replacement — DBA Featured
> Disc brake rotors are the unsung heroes, the workhorses that turn brake-pad friction into stopping power. But, like a good pair of gumboots, they wear out over time. Especially if you're giving your Fortuner, Land Cruiser, Hilux Surf or Prado a hard time off-road. Warped, cracked, or just plain worn? Time for a change.
What Clued You In?
• That brake pedal doing the jitterbug?
• Brakes screamin' like a gutted possum?
• Taking forever to pull up at the lights?
• Rotors lookin' like the surface of the moon?
• Tyres wearing unevenly?
WOF Woes?
Buggered brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF here in NZ. They gotta be within those minimum thickness numbers and no dodgy cracks.

Gear You'll Need: Jack and stands (never skip on these!), wheel wrench, socket set, torque wrench, brake cleaner, maybe a caliper piston tool
🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Right, before you get stuck in, a few quick words from yours truly. Safety first, always! Never get under a vehicle supported only by a jack, even for a quick cafe lunch. Grab some safety glasses to keep the brake dust out of your peepers. And nitrile gloves are a no-brainer to keep your hands clean when dealing with brake components. While you're at it, it's worth having a can of brake cleaner handy for blasting away all that carbon dust. And a wee bit of anti-seize caliper grease will keep things moving smoothly for longer.
Bob's Two Cents
Don't muck around with dodgy brakes, especially if you're towing or hitting the back country. Get those rotors sorted for peace of mind. Pop into Bob's Shop, and we'll sort out the right rotors for your Land Cruiser or Hilux. I'm always here to lend a hand!
Fitment Notes
Double-check those part numbers! Make sure these rotors are the right fit for your specific Toyota Fortuner, Land Cruiser, Hilux Surf or Prado model year and trim level. Rotor sizes can vary.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
