Swapping Out Your Nissan Navara's Disc Brake Rotors
> Your Nissan Navara relies on its disc brake rotors to pull up safely every time. Over time, especially with the tough conditions our Navaras often face, these rotors wear down. That means less stopping power and a potentially dodgy situation. Let's get them swapped out, aye?
Spotting Trouble: Is It Time for New Rotors?
• Brakes sound like a pack of seagulls arguing? (Squealing or grinding)
• Brake pedal doing the Macarena? (Vibration or pulsation)
• Taking forever and a day to stop?
• Rotors look like they've been through a war zone? (Visible scoring or damage)
• Brake pads wearing unevenly?
Will it pass WOF?
Worn or damaged brake rotors are a surefire way to fail your WOF. They need to be above minimum thickness and free from major damage to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under your Navara supported *only* by a jack. Use proper stands. Safety glasses are a no-brainer to keep the brake dust out of your eyes.
• Keep It Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Grab a can of Brake Cleaner to blast it off the rotors and calipers. Trust me, your lungs will thank you.
• Glove Up: A decent set of Nitrile Gloves will keep your hands clean and free from that gritty brake dust. No one wants that stuff under their fingernails.
• Lube It Right: When reassembling, a dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper bolts and pad contact points helps prevent squealing and keeps things moving smoothly.
Expert Recommendation
Worn brake rotors are a serious safety risk, especially in a workhorse like the Navara. Replacing them gives you back that confident stopping power.

Fitment Notes
Double-check those replacement rotors are the right fit for your Navara model and year. Rotor sizes and mounting patterns can vary. Pro tip: replace your brake pads at the same time for the best braking performance and even wear.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
