Disc Brake Rotor Replacement Guide — Featuring DBA
> Disc brake rotors are the metal discs that your brake pads squeeze to bring you to a halt. On tough Aussie V8s like HSVs, they cop heaps of heat and stress. If they warp, crack, or wear out, your braking goes to custard, and that's a safety issue.
Symptoms That Led You Here
• Brake pedal or steering wheel juddering when you brake.
• Squealing, grinding, or scraping sounds when you hit the anchors.
• Taking longer to stop, or the brake pedal feels soft.
• Scratches, grooves, or funny colours on the rotor surface.
• A burning whiff after giving the brakes a hard workout.
Will it pass WOF?
No way, mate. Dodgy brake rotors are a guaranteed WOF failure. Good brakes are non-negotiable for safety.

Alright, before you get cracking on those rotors, let's make sure you're set up for success. Safety first, always! And a clean job is a good job, right?
• Safety Glasses: Don't want any of that brake dust or debris in your peepers. Trust me, it's not fun.
• Nitrile Gloves: Keep those mitts clean and protected from brake fluid. Brake cleaner will also strip the oils out of your hands.
• Brake Cleaner: This stuff is gold for blasting away brake dust and grime from the rotors and calipers. Makes everything easier to work on.
• Anti-Seize Caliper Grease: A smear of this on the caliper bolts will make life easier next time you're in there. Stops them seizing up.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
