Description

SsangYong Rexton & Stavic Disc Brake Rotor Replacement
> Your disc brake rotors are dead important for safe stopping. Over time, they wear out from the pads rubbing on them, especially if you're giving your Rexton or Stavic a hard time. Worn rotors mean dodgy braking and could be a safety risk, mate.

Spotting the Warning Signs
• Brakes squealing like a stuck pig?
• Feeling a judder in the brake pedal?
• Taking longer to pull up than usual?
• Rotors looking scored or rooted?
• Pads wearing unevenly?

WOF Woes?
Worn brakes are a no-brainer for failing a WOF in New Zealand. Your rotors need to be above the minimum thickness and without cracks to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under your SsangYong supported only by a jack. Use proper axle stands – your life's worth it.
• Cleanliness is King: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Grab some Brake Cleaner to blast it all away before you start poking around.
• Glove Up: Keep your hands clean and protected with a set of Nitrile Gloves. Brake cleaner and brake fluid aren't your skin's best mate.
• Lube It Right: Use a dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper bolts when you put everything back together. Stops them seizing up next time.
• Eye Protection: Get some safety glasses. No one wants brake dust in their eyes.

Fitment Notes
Make sure the new rotors are the right fit for your Rexton or Stavic, year and model. Check the size and thickness to match what you had. Some models have different sized rotors, so double-check!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
