Description

Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — DBA Style
> Disc brake rotors are the unsung heroes in your Ford Courier or Mazda BT-50's stopping game. They're what your brake pads grab onto to bring you to a halt. But, give 'em a hiding with heavy loads and tough conditions, and they'll wear down, warp, or even crack.
Spotting Trouble: Is it time to replace your rotors?
• Hear any nasty grinding or squealing when you hit the brakes?
• Feel a shudder or wobble through the brake pedal?
• Taking longer to stop than usual?
• See scoring, cracks, or rust patches on the rotor itself?
• Notice your brake pads are wearing unevenly?
WOF woes?
Worn rotors are a dead cert for a WOF failure here in NZ. They gotta be above the minimum thickness and free from major damage to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Right, before you get stuck in, a few quick words from yours truly. Safety first, eh? Never get under a vehicle supported *only* by a jack. Use proper stands, mate! And those brake pads are covered in brake dust, so grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep the hands clean and Safety Glasses to keep the dust out of your eyes. While you're at it, give everything a good blast with Brake Cleaner to get rid of that stubborn carbon dust. Lastly, when reassembling, a wee dab of anti-seize Caliper Grease on the caliper bolts will make life easier next time around.
Expert Recommendation
Dodgy brake rotors are a risk you don't want to take, especially when your Ford Courier or Mazda BT-50 is lugging heavy gear or tackling rough terrain. New rotors mean top-notch braking and protect your other brake bits. Bob @ CARFIX is always ready to lend a hand figuring out what's best for your rig. Pop over to Bob's Shop for a yarn!
Fitment Notes
Make sure the new rotors are the right fit for your Ford Courier, Mazda BT-50, or Mazda B-Series model and year. Double-check the rotor size and thickness against the originals. Some models might have different rotor sizes depending on the trim level or brake package. Bob's your uncle!

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
