Description

Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — DBA Featured
> So, your SAAB 9-3 or Holden Vectra's brakes aren't feeling quite right? Rotors wear down over time, no worries, especially given our tough conditions here in NZ. That can make stopping a bit... exciting. Let's get those sorted!

Symptoms That Led You Here
• Squealing like a gutted pig when you hit the brakes?
• Brake pedal vibrating like crazy?
• Taking too long to stop at the lights?
• Rotors looking worse for wear – scoring, cracks, or rust?
• Tyre wear looking uneven?

Will it pass WOF?
Mate, dodgy brakes are a no-brainer for WOF failures. Rotors gotta be thick enough and not cracked to pass the test.

DIY or Workshop?
Difficulty: 6/10
Estimated Time: 1-2 hours per rotor
Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, lug wrench, socket set, torque wrench, brake cleaner, and potentially a brake caliper tool.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get cracking on those brakes, a few quick things to keep you safe and get a top-notch result:
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper jack stands – your life's worth it!
• Keep it Clean: Give those new rotors a good spray with Brake Cleaner to get rid of any manufacturing oils. Stops the squealing!
• Glove Up: Brakes are dusty. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to protect your hands from all that yuck.
• Grease is the Word: Use a dab of anti-seize Caliper Grease on the caliper bolts to keep them free for next time. No one likes wrestling rusted bolts!
• Eye Protection: Some of that brake dust can get up in your eyes, so grab some Safety Glasses.

Fitment Notes
Make sure you get the right rotor size for your SAAB 9-3 or Holden Vectra. Check for different sizes depending on the model and year.

Bob's always here to help you pick out what you need!
