Sorting Out Your Suzuki Escudo/Grand Vitara Brake Rotors — With DBA
> Your Suzuki Escudo or Grand Vitara's brake rotors are dead important for stopping safely. They get worn down over time, thanks to friction, heat, and sometimes good old Kiwi weather causing rust. So, let's get them sorted.
Spotting the Warning Signs
• Hearing squealing or a nasty grinding when you hit the brakes in your Suzuki Escudo or Grand Vitara?
• Feeling a wobble or pulsing through the brake pedal?
• Seeing scoring, rust patches, or any damage on the rotor's surface?
• Noticing it takes longer to stop than it used to?
WOF Woes?
Worn-out brake rotors are a quick way to fail a WOF here in New Zealand. They need to be above the minimum thickness and in good nick to pass the test.

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you start wrestling with those rotors, a quick yarn about safety and what else you might need. First up, safety glasses are a no-brainer to keep the brake dust out of your eyes. Grab some heavy-duty nitrile gloves (Nitrile Gloves) too; brake dust is a bugger to get off your hands.
While you're at it, give everything a good blast with some Brake Cleaner – gets rid of all that carbon dust. A wee smear of anti-seize caliper grease on the right spots will keep things moving smoothly, too.
Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack! Use proper stands; it's not worth the risk.
