Description

Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — DBA Style
> Your rotors are key to good stopping power. Like anything, they get hammered over time, especially in family wagons like the Mitsubishi Outlander and Chrysler Sebring. Keep them sweet, keep the family safe.
Spotting Trouble Signs:
• Brakes screeches like a banshee
• Feels like the brake pedal's got a pulse
• Takes a while to pull up
• Rotors look like they've been through a war
• Pads wearing uneven? That's suss.
WOF Woes?
Dodgy rotors are a quick way to fail a WOF. They gotta be a certain thickness and free from cracks to pass the test. No one wants that! Get it sorted before your WOF check.
DIY or Get a Pro?
Difficulty: 6/10
Time Needed: 2-3 hours per axle
Gear You'll Need: Jack and stands, wheel wrench, socket set, torque wrench, brake cleaner, and new pads (best to do them together).
🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get cracking, few things to keep in mind. Brakes are vital, so no cutting corners!
• Safety First, Mate!: Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper stands – it's a no-brainer.
• Keep it Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Give everything a good blast with Brake Cleaner before you start pulling things apart. Trust me, your lungs will thank you.
• Glove Up: Protect your mitts with some Nitrile Gloves. Keeps the grease and grime off.
• Lube It Right: Use a dab of anti-seize Caliper Grease on the caliper bolts to stop them seizing up next time.
Bob's Two Cents
Worn rotors mean weak brakes - simple as that. New rotors mean stopping sweet, and saving other parts from damage. DBA's a solid choice for your Outlander or Sebring, built tough and sheds heat well. Swing by Bob's Shop or give us a yell, and we'll sort you out with the right bits. Bob @ CARFIX is here to help!
Fitment Notes
Make sure those new rotors are a match for your car – model, year, the whole shebang. Watch out for ABS or other brake system differences, especially on the Jeep Patriot and Mitsubishi ASX.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
