Description

Disc Brake Rotor Replacement — DBA to the Rescue!
> Disc brake rotors are dead important for your Land Rover's stoppers. Over time, especially with a heavy beast like the Discovery or Range Rover Sport, these rotors can wear out, warp, or even crack. That means dodgy braking and less safety on the road. Not ideal!

Symptoms That Led You Here
• Brake pedal pulsation or vibration
• Squealing or grinding noises when braking
• Increased stopping distance
• Visible cracks or grooves on the rotor surface
• Uneven brake pad wear

Will it pass WOF?
Worn or damaged disc brake rotors are a common cause for WOF failures in New Zealand. Rotors must be within minimum thickness specifications and free from cracks or excessive damage to pass inspection.

DIY or Workshop?
Difficulty: 7/10

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get stuck in, a quick yarn about safety and the right gear. Brakes are no joke, so let's do it properly, eh?
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper axle stands – your life's worth more than a cafe lunch! And chuck on some Safety Glasses to keep the brake dust outta your eyes when you're blasting with brake cleaner.
• Keep it Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Grab a can of Brake Cleaner to spray down the rotors and calipers. It'll make the job cleaner and help your new brakes bed in properly.
• Glove Up: Protect your hands with some Nitrile Gloves. Brake cleaner and old brake fluid aren't exactly kind to the skin.
• Grease is the Word: When reassembling the brakes, use a dab of anti-seize caliper grease on the caliper slide pins. This will keep everything moving smoothly and prevent binding.

Expert Recommendation
Worn brake rotors mean your Land Rover's safety is compromised. Replacing them sorts your braking out and stops other brake bits from getting hurt. Bob @ CARFIX is always keen to help you find exactly what rotor you need for your Landie. Pop into Bob's Shop for a yarn!

Fitment Notes
Make sure the rotor size and specs are right for your specific Land Rover model and year. Some models might have different rotor sizes depending on the trim level or factory options.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
