Swapping Out Your Disc Brake Rotors — DBA Style
> Disc brake rotors are dead important for stopping your Land Rover Discovery Sport. They team up with the brake pads to slow you down. But rotors wear out over time – they can warp, crack, especially on a gutsy SUV like yours.
What Clued You In?
• Brakes squealing like a stuck pig or grinding away?
• Brake pedal giving you the jitters?
• Taking longer to pull up than you'd like?
• Rotors looking like they've seen better days – cracks, grooves, the works?
WOF Worthy?
Dodgy disc brake rotors are a classic WOF fail here in NZ. They gotta be within the thickness limits and crack-free to pass the test.
DIY or Hand it Over?
Difficulty: 7/10

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Alright, before you get stuck in, let's talk safety and making sure you have what you need. Brakes are no joke, so pay attention!
• Safety First, Mates! Never, ever get under your Discovery Sport supported only by a jack. Get yourself some proper axle stands – your life's worth it. And chuck on some Safety Glasses to keep the crud out of your eyes.
• Keep it Clean: Brake dust is nasty stuff. Grab some Brake Cleaner to blast it away from the rotors and calipers. Trust me, your lungs will thank you.
• Glove Up: Protect your hands with some Nitrile Gloves. Brake cleaner and old brake fluid aren't exactly skin-friendly.
• Lube it Right: When reassembling, use a dab of anti-seize grease on the caliper bolts. This'll make life easier next time you're in there. You can find this at Bob's Shop.
Bob's Two Cents
Worn brake rotors are a no-go for safety, especially on a family wagon like the Land Rover Discovery Sport. New rotors mean better stopping, plain and simple. DBA's are top-notch, but CARFIX has options for every budget. Pop into Bob's Shop and we'll sort you out with the right parts for your Land Rover Discovery Sport. I'm always here to help!
Fitment Notes
Double-check those new rotors match your Land Rover Discovery Sport's year and model. Look for left and right markings too.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
