Disc Brake Rotor Replacement Guide — DBA to the Rescue
> Your Ford Fairmont, Falcon, or LTD's disc brake rotors are vital for safe stops. They wear down from friction and heat, especially if you're always in town or towing a boat. That wear means less braking power, and that's never a good thing.
Symptoms That Led You Here
• Squealing like a pig when you brake
• The brake pedal's vibrating like crazy
• Taking ages to pull up
• Rust, scoring, or damage you can see on the rotor
• Brake pads wearing unevenly
Will it pass WOF?
Worn or damaged disc brake rotors? That's a quick way to fail a WOF in New Zealand. Rotors need to be thick enough and in good nick to pass the test.
DIY or Workshop?
Difficulty: 6/10
Estimated Time: 2-3 hours per axle

🛠️ Bob's "Get It Done Right" Companion Checklist
Before you dive in, mate, safety first! Never, ever get under a car supported only by a jack. Use proper axle stands. Grab some Nitrile Gloves to keep your hands clean from all that brake dust – nasty stuff. And definitely get yourself some Safety Glasses to keep the crud out of your eyes when you're blasting things with brake cleaner.
Speaking of, you'll want a can of Brake Cleaner to get rid of all that brake dust, and a smidge of anti-seize caliper grease to stop things seizing up. Trust me, it's worth it.

Worn brake rotors are a safety risk in your Ford Fairmont, Falcon, or LTD. Replacing them keeps your braking sharp and stops damage to other parts. Bob @ CARFIX is always on hand to help you work out exactly what part you need for your Ford. Make sure you head over to Bob's Shop for a chat!
Fitment Notes
Make sure they fit your Ford model and year. Rotor sizes can be different. Always swap rotors in pairs (both front or both rear) for even braking.

🧰 What Else You'll Need:
• Safety First: Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always secure it on heavy-duty safety jack stands.
• Brake Dust Protection: Keep a pack of Nitrile Gloves handy to protect your hands from grease and dust.
• Clean and Prep: Use Brake Cleaner to clean the anti-corrosion shipping oil off the new rotors before mounting the calipers.
• Lubrication: Apply caliper grease to caliper slide pins and pad contact points to prevent squealing.
